Item Description:Highlights of Chambersburg: The heart of our city, Memorial Square, on which our four banks, the Central Presbyterian Church, Franklin County Courthouse, and the monument commemorating the burning of Chambersburg are located, is the hub of our city. It was here that General Robert E. Lee, commander-in-chief of the Southern Armies, held a council of war with his aide, General A. P. Hill, on Friday, June 26, 1863. The northern march of the mighty host of the South was directed toward Gettysburg after this memorable meeting of Generals Lee and Hill
