Description
Item Description:This is Chapel Hall in the Winter, one of the many inspiring worship centers at Lutherlyn. Chapel Hill was sponsored by St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monessen as a memorial to the nine boys killed in World War II, also in honor of all those in the service from their church. The nine cement block pillars are for the nine boys who died in the war, and represents nine different nationalities. The cross, made of cement weighs over 40 tons, is 30 feet above ground, and is cemented in solid sandstone 11 feet below ground. From this hill top worshipers, under the shadow of the cross, see many beautiful sunsets
