Description
Item Description:"Mormon" Pavilion. New York World's Fair 1964-1965. One of the notable features of the Fair is this unique and appealing "Mormon" Pavilion. Its facade in reminiscent of the world-famed Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah. Surmounting the central spire of the facade is a golden replica of Angel Moroni. It stands 127 feet above the ground, one of the highest points in the Fair. Back of the facade is a 16,000-square-foot pavilion with its dynamic exhibits and theatre presentations based on the theme: "Man's Search for Happiness."
