Item Description:The picturesque village of Mesilla, was once the largest city west of San Antonio, Texas. Mesilla achieved notoriety as the scene of the trial of William Bonney "Billy The Kid", who was subsequently jailed in Lincoln, New Mexico. The Gadsden Treaty was ratified in the village Plaza in 1854
