Item Description: | The history of the Catholic Church in Parke County began with the Indian occupation. With the coming of white settlers Mass was said in private homes. The first church in Rockville was on West York St. about 1870. In 1886 this Church was built at Ohio and Virginia Sts. To make way for a new Church, it was donated to Billie Creek Village in 1972, with financial assistance of Mr. & Mrs. Anton Hulman. Father Moran, Pastor |
