Item Description:Built of light gray limestone; it was 128 feet long, 88 feet broad, 60 feet high and to the top of tower 165 feet; had 30 hewn pilasters costing $3,000 each. Cost of temple, $1,000,000. Cornerstone laid April 6, 1841. Temple burned Oct. 8-9, 1848
