Item Description:A painting of the Nauvoo Temple based on drawings and plans of William Weeks, architect of Temple, and other authentic information gathered from historical sources by Nauvoo Restoration, Incorporated. The Temple was built by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Constructed of native light colored limestone quarried in the vicinity, it was commenced in April, 1841, dedicated May 1, 1846, and burned in October, 1848
