Description
Item Description:The Chicago Temple (First Methodist) the world's tallest and Chicago's oldest church, is located in the heart of the downtown "Loop." Its spire, floodlighted at night, is an impressive sight. Congregations come from all parts of the land. An active weekday program culminates in the morning and evening (11:00 & 7:30) services with overflow congregations. The main floor sanctuary is open daily for prayer, with noonday organ musical meditations. The wood carving by Alois Lang depicts Christ looking over Jerusalem. The panels of the window portray the great truths of the Four Gospels
