Item Description: | Of the Christopher Wren School, the church is suggestive of St. Martins-in-the-field, of London. Founded in 1755 as a branch of the Church of Scotland, the present building is a reproduction of one one erected in 1819 and destroyed by fire in 1889. Lowell Mason, while organist here, composed the famous hymn, "From Greenland's Icy Mountains".
