Item Description:The Convent of Mary Immaculate, Key West, Florida was built in 1878 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. A Canadian organization. The building was enlarged in 1904. Many of the sisters perished while on duty as nurses during the yellow fever epidemic of 1898
