| Item Description: | Founded in 1791 by Fr. Lasuen, Mission Santa Cruz was destroyed by earthquake in 1857 and nothing is left of the original buildings. In 1931, Mrs. R. S. Doyle presented the community of Santa Cruz with a reduced replica of the church and a few rooms which faithfully follows the original style of the buildings |
