Description
Item Description:Caleb Dorsey donated three valuable lots for the site of the church, funds for the building were donated. The building was designed by Reverend John Gassman of San Francisco. Rev. Gassman was shepherd of the new flock. It has survived several major fires that plagued the community in its early days. It is still in remarkably good shape and entirely serviceable. The dark red frame structure was built in 1859 after the camp had attained an air of permanence. A replica of this church has been built on the grounds of the New Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada
