Item Description:The West Wall and Choir Loft. This gallery, located over the narthex, accommodates the Cathedral Choir of 50 voices. Besides the organ console it houses a complete 66 note console for Flemish Bells plus the playing controls for the English Carillon. The mural surrounding the rose window depicts the ascent of the Prophet Elijah into heaven in the fiery chariot, with Elisha waiting to receive the prophet's mantle. The lower mural is a representation of the Old Covenant and the New. A. portion of the vault may be seen here, showing the symbolic tree of Jesse
