Item Description: | The "Mormon" Temple at Mesa, Arizona was erected by the L.D.S. Church at a cost of about $800,000.00. Its dedication was October 23, 1927. The building is colonial in design, an American adaption of the classic. Its dimensions are 184 feet by 128 feet, 58 feet high. Of steel and concrete construction, covered with glistening pulsichrome terra cotta, in the center of five acres of beautiful lawns and flowers, surrounded by a steel fence 9 feet high. This edifice stands as a monument to growth and stability at the "Mormon" Church. Before its dedication, one hundred thousand tourists from all parts of the country were permitted to pass through this building |
