Item Description: | Signatures: * A-S T1. - A re-edition of the author's Dauid, virtutis exercitatissimæ probatum Deo spectaculum, 1597, with illustrations by Johann Theodor de Bry (cf. Landwehr). - Each of the 48 sections summarises an incident in the life of David; each is entitled at the head with the moral quality or lesson it is considered to illustrate with a citation from the Bible (mostly from 1 and 2 Samuel), and this is followed by 4 lines of Latin verse and an explicatio in Latin prose.
