| Item Description: | Consists of the ill. only from Langlois' Paris ed. of 1646, without the letterpress mottos above the image or the explanatory verses below. - Sheet [1] is the engraved title. The succeeding prints are numbered I-XXVI, corresponding to Lieure's 2nd state. They are etched, with some engraving, soft-ground etching, and perhaps drypoint. Lieure suggests that only the first 4 prints are by Callot, the remaining 23 being perhaps by Abraham Bosse |
