He views them as unnecessary since he believes that God has already blessed him with a deep contemplative prayer that cannot be captured in words. Father Joseph wonders whether Thomas, who as a hermit would be considered a consecrated person in the Church, can forego reciting the Liturgy of the Hours, which traditionally has occupied an important place n the prayer lives of most consecrated persons. |
