Description
Summary:The article begins situating itself in two contexts of the present world: 1. War and violence experienced in different parts of the globe, including the war in Ukraine and Israel; 2. Various ills, pains and deficiencies like poverty that affect the quality of life, which in turn has repercussions for peace (first section). After explaining some methodological considerations involved in the study (second section), the article moves in the third section to explain the biblical understanding of peace. This section has two parts. The first one discusses Shalom in its relational aspect. The second part will study Shalom in its existential aspect. Before concluding, in the light of the study, I will propose some implications for peace from the point of view of peace making and peace building.
