Summary: | Against the background of Russia's criminal aggressive attack on the Ukraine, this article asks how far we must treat war as still an unavoidable threat. Without our involvement war cannot prevail. And since it has prevailed, especially in Europe, a modern understanding of statehood must hold as a decisive standard that we cannot fall short of, the following: no state can any longer be treated as legitimate that does not admit the violence that has come from its history and of which it continues to be the source. |
