Σύνοψη: | From the perspective of Harari’s theory of imagination, the narrative of Luke 7:18−35 displays the clash of imaginations between John and Jesus regarding the identity of the Messiah. It appears that Jesus tries to beat John’s imagination about the identity of the Messiah by lowering the position of John in the Kingdom of God. Clashing with John’s imagination, Jesus builds up the imagination of the Messiah as a figure who presents the Kingdom of God which includes the individual transformation, the transformation of social relationships in the community, the transformation of social structures, and the transformation of the world. |
