And even if the hope in our reparative capacities is not extinguished but is instead cultivated, guilt and despair do not mark the end point of our relationship to the things of the world. If the concept of evil indicates the loss or destruction of good, then, going through evil means going through this loss or destruction. In order to be able to understand the meaning of reparation of the good, it is therefore indispensable to understand how the loss of the good must be passed through, so that, at the end of its crossing, it is possible to reach a renewed good. El reconocimiento y la aversión que sentimos hacia el mal nos predisponen en la restauración y renovación del bien. Y si la esperanza en nuestra capacidad reparadora no se extinguiera y por el contrario fuera cultivada, la culpa y la desesperación no marcarían el punto final de nuestra relación con las cosas del mundo. Si el concepto del mal indica la pérdida o destrucción del bien, entonces atravesar por el mal significa pasar a través de esa pérdida o destrucción. Para que se comprenda el sentido de la reparación del bien, es pues imprescindible comprender cómo debe ser atravesada la pérdida del bien para que, al final de su travesía, se llegue a un bien nuevo como un bien renovado. |
