Kasper prende l’avvio e si sofferma sul primo confronto con Ratzinger, quello innescato dalla sua recensione alla Einführung in das Christentum di Ratzinger, «un classico della teologia cristiana contemporanea». Kasper ha individuato in Ratzinger una forma di pensiero platonico, forma capace, tra l’altro, di indirizzare e condizionare il modo di intendere la storicità del cristianesimo e la natura della verità. Essa si riflette anche sull’incontro di Ratzinger con la modernità, che rimane conflittuale. Gli appunti di E. Prato su questo confronto riprendono la questione della storia, anche per mostrare alcuni suoi sviluppi nella ricerca dei due Autori nei decenni successivi a questo primo scambio. In his text, W. Kasper dwells on his first debate with Ratzinger, which was triggered by his review of Ratzinger’s Einführung in das Christentum, «a classic of contemporary Christian theology». Kasper identified in Ratzinger a form of Platonic thought, a form capable, among other things, of directing and conditioning the way of understanding the historicity of Christianity and the nature of truth. This is also reflected in Ratzinger’s conflictual encounter with modernity. E. Prato’s notes on this debate take up the question of history, showing how it is developed in both of the authors research in the decades following this first exchange. |
