Preceptoría significa enseñanza extraoficial, oficiosa y privada, de latinidad y otras materias humanísticas fundamentales de letras y ciencias para acceder a estudios superiores. Preceptor, alias Dómine [= Señor], es el párroco de pueblo o simplemente sacerdote o seglar, fundador del estudio oficioso. Concepto académico vario en la historia de España. Diecisiete preceptorías rurales en pueblos de Castilla la Vieja de España, conectadas al menos con la citada provincia agustiniana.
