Summary: | The study presented here documents the results of an discourse by a working group convened by the German National Committee of the Lutheran World Federation and the Johann Adam Möhler Institute for Ecumenics in Paderborn. Its aim is to offer a German contribution to the ecdesiological issues currently being discussed at world level and in national dialogues. The guiding question is whether and/if SO/how ecclesiological consequences can be drawn from the "differentiated consensus" that the "Joint Dederation on the Doctrine of Justification" has established. The key question is/whether moments of a basic ecclesiological consensus can be derived from the consensus reached in a central theological doctrine and the method by which this consensus was reached. On the way to a deeper consensus on basic truths of ecdesio logy/the study seeks common ground in the understanding of central ecclesiological principles/namely apostolicity/sacramentality and visibility (or "visible unity")/on the basis of the JDDC. |
