Summary: | This article aims to provide an edition, with introduction, translation, and commentary, of what remains of the Sahidic version of Basil of Caesarea's De ieiunio I from codex CLM 562. The same homily is known in Coptic thanks to a complete Bohairic manuscript now kept at the Vatican Library, and four leaves of another Sahidic codex now preserved in Paris. In this article, the text of the Sahidic version of Basil’s homily from CLM 562 will be partly confronted with that of the Bohairic version. |
