Description
Summary:Today, hitherto unknown aspects about the social, economic, political and religious context of the convent of the Mother of God at a certain time in the 18th century are revealed. Through a simple notarial deed of power granted by Juan Francisco de Gastañaduy, we have been able to get closer to the historical circumstances of this institution and its situation in Toledo. After leaving the position of mayor in Cajamarca, this Indian returned to Spain and gave the appropriate instructions to Pedro de la Cruz, mercedarian of Seville, to make the tax settlements on the goods brought from the Indies and to deliver his donation to the Dominican convent in Toledo.
