Итог: | The essay argues that no New Testament term can be philologically adequately translated as ?hell.? It outlines the scenography that makes the religious concept ?hell? associable and examines all the passages in Matthew?s and Luke?s Gospel that speak of Gehenna or Hades. It is shown that these as well as other places of horror belong to the topography of God?s judgment, but do not lead to a conception of ?hell? as a counter-realm to the kingdom of God. Hell is not a topos of biblical theology. |
