| Summary: | AbstractThis article delves into the intersection of Islamic theology and ethics within the classical discussions on contagion and preventive measures. It introduces three models that illuminate the intricate nature of contagion within the Ashʿarī theological school. This demonstrates that reducing it solely to ethical subjectivism or voluntarism fails to capture its diverse and intricate essence. The article posits that despite the prevalent theological focus in these discussions, there exists an ethical framework presenting diverse perspectives that seemingly clash while determining the paramount value to safeguard and prioritize during pandemics.Contagion has been pivotal in discussions concerning plagues, bridging multiple disciplines like medicine, Islamic jurisprudence, theology, Sufism, ethics, as well as theoretical and applied considerations. Given this intricate nature of discussions regarding contagion and prevention, the article suggests an approach through "theological ethics," which addresses the moral dimensions within Islamic theology. ālḫlāṣa īnāqš hḏā ālbḥṯ āltdāḫl bīn ālklāmī ūālāʾḫlāqī fī ālmnāqšāt ālklāsīkīa ālḫāṣa bmsāʾla ālʿdūā ūsbl ālāḥtrāz mnhā, ūīaʿrḍ lṯlāṯa nmāḏǧ tūḍḥ trkībīa ālmūqf mn ālʿdūā dāḫl ālmḏhb ālklāmī ālāʾšʿrī, ālāʾmr ālḏī īūḍḥ āʾn āḫtzālh fī fkra ālḏātīa ālāʾḫlāqīa (divine subjectivism or ethical voluntarism) lā īfī bṭābʿh āltrkībī ālmtnūʿ. ūīḫlṣ ālbḥṯ āʾlā āʾnh bālrġm mn ālsma ālklāmīa ālṭāġīa ʿlā tlk ālmnāqšāt, fāʾn ṯma āʾṭāranā āʾḫlāqīanā ṯāūīanā fīhā nqf fīh ʿlā mnẓūrāt mḫtlfa kānt ttnāzʿ - fīmā ībdū - ḥūl tḥdīd ālqīma ālʿlīā āltī īǧb āʾn tṣān ūtkūn lhā ālāʾūlūīa fī zmn ālūbāʾ. fālʿdūā šklt mḥūr ālnqāšāt ālḫāṣa bālṭāʿūn, āltī brz fīhā tšābk tḫṣṣāt ʿda kālṭb ūālfqh ūālklām ūāltṣūf ūālāʾḫlāq, ūālnẓrī ūālʿmlī. ūbsbb hḏh ālsma āltrkībīa ltlk ālnqāšāt ḥūl ālʿdūā ūālāḥtrāz īrā ālbḥṯ āʾnhā īmkn āʾn tudraǧ ḍmn "ālāʾḫlāq ālklāmīa" āltī ttnāūl ālǧūānb ālmʿīārīa āltī ttṣl bʿlm ālklām. الخلاصة يناقش هذا البحث التداخل بين الكلامي والأخلاقي في المناقشات الكلاسيكية الخاصة بمسألة العدوى وسبل الاحتراز منها، ويَعرض لثلاثة نماذج توضح تركيبية الموقف من العدوى داخل المذهب الكلامي الأشعري، الأمر الذي يوضح أن اختزاله في فكرة الذاتية الأخلاقية (divine subjectivism or ethical voluntarism) لا يفي بطابعه التركيبي المتنوّع. ويخلص البحث إلى أنه بالرغم من السمة الكلامية الطاغية على تلك المناقشات، فإن ثمة إطارًا أخلاقيًّا ثاويًا فيها نقف فيه على منظورات مختلفة كانت تتنازع - فيما يبدو - حول تحديد القيمة العليا التي يجب أن تصان وتكون لها الأولوية في زمن الوباء. فالعدوى شكلت محور النقاشات الخاصة بالطاعون، التي برز فيها تشابك تخصصات عدة كالطب والفقه والكلام والتصوف والأخلاق، والنظري والعملي. وبسبب هذه السمة التركيبية لتلك النقاشات حول العدوى والاحتراز يرى البحث أنها يمكن أن تُدرَج ضمن "الأخلاق الكلامية" التي تتناول الجوانب المعيارية التي تتصل بعلم الكلام. |
