| Summary: | Di fronte a vari tentativi di spiegare il misterioso appunto teresiano della "cifra della morte" (la settima Relazione nelle edizioni più recenti delle opere della Santa), senza che si sia ancora imposta una soluzione definitiva, se mai possibile per vie meramente umane, si propone qui un cambio di prospettiva che tenga conto in modo attento della logica interna del testo, a partire dal suo genere letterario, e dell'esperienza estatica che soggiace ad esso. La rilettura che ne deriva permette di intravedere proprio l'esperienza del mistero di Dio e della vita oltre la morte che Teresa fa, segno profetico di un disegno e di un appuntamento che riguardano tutti. Without a definitively established explanation, despite various attempts and if such an explanation is even possible through human means, of the mysterious Teresian account of the "cifra de la muerte" (the seventh Relation in the most recent editions of the Saint's works), we propose here a change of perspective that carefully takes into account the internal logic of her text, starting with its literary genre and the ecstatic experience underlying it. The resulting rereading allows us to glimpse precisely the encounter with the mystery of God and life beyond death that Teresa experiences and documents, an account which becomes a prophetic sign of God's eternal design and call for each human person. |
