Prostyle tétrastyle, le monument se dresse sur un podium bien plus large que la surface de sa cella et qui semble avoir fait partie du projet avorté d’un temple périptère. Le portail à l’entablement richement décoré et l’aspect décoratif des chapiteaux nous permettent de dater le monument du milieu du iie s. apr. J.-C. À l’époque médiévale, le monument fut transformé en une église biconque, dont il ne subsiste aujourd’hui que le chevet, constitué de deux absides qui occupent son côté nord-est. The ionic temple of Bziza: architecture and transformationsThe ionic temple of Bziza is one of the best-preserved temples in Lebanon. A tetrastyle prostyle, the monument stands on a podium much larger than the surface of its cella and which seems to have been part of the failed project for a peripteral temple. The portal with its richly decorated entablature, as well as the decorative aspect of the capitals, allow us to date the monument to the middle of the second century ad. During medieval times, the monument was transformed into a biconical church, of which only the chevet, constituted of two apses which occupy its northeast side, remains nowadays. معبد بزيزا الأيوني: هندسته وتعديلاتهيشكل معبد بزيزا الأيوني أحد أفضل المعابد المحفوظة في لبنان. يقف الصرح، الذي تتقدمه اربعة أعمدة، على دكة اوسع بكثير من مساحة مقصورته والتي يبدو أنها كانت جزءًا من مشروع لم ينفذ لمعبد محيطي. تسمح لنا البوابة ذات الزخرفات الغنية، بالإضافة إلى الجانب الزخرفي لتيجان اعمدته، بتأريخ الصرح من منتصف القرن الثاني للميلاد. في العصور الوسطى، تم تحويل المعبد إلى كنيسة مزدوجة، لم يبق منها اليوم سوى صدرها المكون من حنيتين تشغلان جانبه الشمالي الشرقي. |
