L’examen archéologique des installations en place révèle deux phases initiales qui se sont succédé dans la première moitié du vie siècle, mettant en évidence la volonté, de la part d’une communauté monastique de Judée, de pérenniser alors des pratiques anciennes où l’eau vive, étroitement liée à l’idéologie du Salut, se place au cœur des rites en vigueur. The baptistery of ʿAin el-Maʿmoudiyeh (Southern Palestine - Hebron district) The site of ʿAin el-Maʿmoudiyeh ( "the spring of baptism"), in the district of Hebron, presents an ancient baptistery with running water, associated with the ruins of a medieval building. It is traditionally related to John the Baptist’s early ministry, prior to his settlement on the shore of the Jordan river. The archaeological examination of the existing installations reveals two initial phases that succeeded each other in the first half of the sixth century. It consequently sheds light on a Judean monastic community then willing to perpetuate ancient practices where the living water, closely linked to the ideology of Salvation, is placed at the heart of the rites in force. عين المعمودية (جنوب فلسطين - محافظة الخليل)يقدم موقع عين المعمودية في قطاع الخليل معمودية قديمة تغذيها مياه جارية مترافقة مع مبنى من العصور الوسطى، وهي ترتبط تقليديا ببدايات دعوة يوحنا المعمدان قبل أن ينتقل نشاطه إلى ضفاف نهر الأردن. يكشف البحث الأثري في المنشآت القائمة عن مرحلتين متتاليتين من النصف الأول من القرن السادس، مما يسلط الضوء على رغبة المجتمع الرهباني في يهوذا في اتباع الممارسات القديمة وطقوسها المتمحورة حول الماء، وهي ترتبط ارتباطا وثيقاً بأيديولوجية الخلاص. |
