| Summary: | El 7 de febrero de 1991, Jean Bertrand Aristide inicia su mandato como Presidente de la República. Una avalancha (Lavalás) de pobres lo había llevado al poder mediante las primeras elecciones libres en Haití. Sin embargo, el 30 de septiembre del mismo año un cruento golpe de Estado interrumpe la caminata del pueblo haitiano. Desde entonces, una represión salvaje ha estado acabando con todas las fuerzas sanas y vivas de la nación. El pueblo, paralizado, parece perder la esperanza. La crisis es honda, el sentimiento de impotencia es fuerte, y el deseo de abandonar la lucha es grande. En este contexto hemos leído Ex. 14, 1-31 con Comunidades Eclesiales de Base de todo Haití, intentando iluminar este momento de la lucha del pueblo haitiano. Ex. 14 contiene una experiencia que pretende ser un ejemplo y una fuente de inspiración para todos los pueblos de la tierra. De hecho, hoy el pueblo de Haití está frente al mar, preparándose para el paso. Dios está unido a él para, con él, repetir el gran milagro del surgimiento de un pueblo libre como el viento On february 7 of 1991, Jean Bertrand Aristide starts his mandate as President of the Republic. On avalanche (Lavalás) of poor took him to power trough the first free election in Haití. But in september 30 of that year a bloody “coup d’ etat” interrupt the long walk of haitian people. Sincem that, a savage suppression has been ending with the most healthy lifes ando forces of nation. The people, stopped, seems lost his hope. The crisis is profound, the feeling of powerlessness is strong and the wish to give way the struggle is strong too. In this context we have read Exodo 14, 1- 31 with Christin Community of Haití. Trying to enlighten this moment in the struggle of haitians. Ex. 14 contains an experience which could be an example and a source of inspiration for all the people of the earth. Today the people of Haití is in front of the sea, preparing his walk. God is close to him, for with him, repeating the great miracle of raising of a free people like the wind. |
