Description
Summary:This article is devoted to the French Church's treatment, over the last quarter of a century, of the question of paedophilia and the abuse crisis. It briefly retraces the main stages of the Church's collective awareness (in line with society's), and then examines the conclusions and recommendations of CIASE (Commission indépendante sur les abus sexuels dans l'Église; Independent Commission on Sexual Abuse in the Church) in October 2021, which has been something of a shockwave. Finally, it will evaluate the present and future outcomes of this work, which marks a breakthrough/turning point.
