| Summary: | In view of the rampant global crises of our present, the future of mankind today is in question. Based on the biblical testimony about the beginning and the end of the world, which find expression in the theological topoi of creation and eschatology, the author pleads for a consistent Entmythologisierung. A present understanding of eschatological content should be the guiding principle, which can be understood as the experience of a fulfilled present. In religious education processes, the ideology-critical potential of a present understanding of eschatology lies in the relativisation of secular promises of the future and the rehabilitation of the present. |
