| Summary: | In the Library of La-Chaux-de-Fonds is kept a manuscript (MS 71) of the Système de la Mode, donated on November 18, 1962 by Roland Barthes through the Swiss writer Yves Velan. The manuscript of this Préface, probably written between late 1962 and mid-1963, remained unpublished until 1998, when its French transcript was published by the Swiss magazine [VWA] in the monographic issue Le cabinet des manuscrits2. The one we publish is therefore his first translation into Italian. |
