| Summary: | Der vorliegende Artikel befasst sich mit zwei Fragen bezüglich Karl Barths Exegese in seinem berühmten Kommentar zum Römerbrief. Zunächst: ob Barths Exegese eine zuverlässige Richtschnur für die Kirche wie für interessierte Leser im 21. Jahrhundert darstellt. Zweitens: ob Barth Paulus' Gedankengang im Römerbrief gerecht wurde und ob er dessen Theologie treu wiedergab. Der Artikel versucht ein Schlaglicht zu werfen auf Barths exegetische Grundsätze und liefert Beispiele dafür, was im Kommentar geschieht, wenn Barth griechische Begriffe und Textvariante erörtert. Die Bilanz lautet: formal bietet der Kommentar Beispiele wertvoller Exegese, doch Barths theologische Agenda unterscheidet sich von der des Paulus. Statt sich auf den Römerbrief zu fokussieren, erörtert Barth die Begriffe des Paulus im Lichte dessen weiteren Briefen, die Barth durch eine kulturell stark gefärbte Brille betrachtet. Barth übersetzt die Botschaft des alten Textes in moderne Begriffe, vergleichbar mit Rudolf Bultmanns re-mythologisierte Bände neutestamentlicher Theologie. This article addresses two questions regarding the exegesis of Karl Barth in his famous commentary on Paul's Letter to the Romans. The first question is whether Barth's exegesis is a reliable guide for the Church and for interested readers in the twenty-first century; the second is whether Barth did justice to Paul's thinking in Romans and whether he represented Paul's theology accurately. The article attempts to highlight the exegetical principles followed by Barth and it presents examples of what actually happens in the commentary when Barth discusses Greek concepts and textual variants. It concludes that formally the commentary offers some good examples of exegesis, but that Barth’s theological agenda differs from Paul's. Rather than focusing on Romans, Barth discusses Paul's concepts at the level of Paul's theology in all his letters, at which he looks through a strongly culturally-determined lens. Barth reconstructs the message of the ancient text in modern terms, not unlike the way Rudolf Bultmann did this in his re-mythologized volumes of New Testament theology. Cet article aborde deux questions concernant l'exégèse de Karl Barth dans son célèbre commentaire sur la lettre de Paul aux Romains. La première question est de savoir si l'exégèse de Barth est un guide fiable pour l'Église et les lecteurs intéressés au XXIe siècle ; la seconde est de savoir si Barth a rendu justice à la pensée de Paul dans Romains et s'il a représenté la théologie de Paul de manière adéquate. L'article tente de mettre en évidence les principes exégétiques suivis par Barth et présente des exemples de ce qui se passe réellement dans le commentaire lorsque Barth traite de concepts grecs et de variantes textuelles. Il conclut que, d'un point de vue formel, le commentaire offre quelques bons exemples d'exégèse, mais que l'agenda théologique de Barth diffère de celui de Paul. Plutôt que de se concentrer sur Romains, Barth discute des concepts de Paul sur le plan de la théologie biblique de Paul dans toutes ses lettres, qu'il regarde à travers une forte lentille culturelle. Barth reconstruit le message du texte ancien en termes modernes, un peu comme Rudolf Bultmann l'a fait dans ses ouvrages " remythologisés " de théologie biblique néotestamentaire. |
