Facing sex abuses, one of the reasons for the silence in the Church has been a misguided sense of responsibility towards the communities and the institution. On the contrary, we need to stop thinking the Church as a mechanism; we must return to the victims' testimony in order to expose the Church to the drama of history, in view of a possible healing. The methods of restorative justice seem to be the best way to accompany this conversion. |
