| Summary: | Josef Ratzinger's articulation of Christian faith and philosophical reason is the subject of much debate. From his inaugural lecture at the University of Bonn (1959) to his famous Regensburg Address (2006), Benedict XVI never ceased to emphasise the importance of Greek philosophy for Christianity as the "true religion (vera religio)", without forgetting to stress the transformation of the "god of the philosophers" by the "God of Christians". On s'interroge sur l'articulation entre foi chrétienne et raison philosophique chez Josef Ratzinger. De sa leçon inaugurale à l'Université de Bonn (1959) jusqu'au célèbre Discours de Ratisbonne (2006), Benoît XVI n'a cessé de souligner l'importance de la philosophie grecque pour le christianisme considéré comme la « vraie religion (vera religio) », sans pour autant oublier d'insister sur la transformation du « dieu des philosophes » par le « Dieu des chrétiens ». |
