Description
Summary:The purpose of the article is to demonstrate how the use of a concept to understand a historical event, in this case Zoroastrianism, can often distort both the concept and the history and, in addition, modify the very existence of the analyzed societies. from that notion. From a bibliographic survey and hermeneutic analysis, it was demonstrated that to understand the social history of Zoroastrianism it is necessary to understand the social history of the term "monotheism". This is because the use of the concept of monotheism to understand Zoroastrianism causes mistaken associations between Jewish monotheism - a movement from which the concept itself emerges - and Mazdaism.
