| Summary: | As muitas leituras do Concílio Vaticano II correspondem à variedade de interlocutores deste evento eclesial que mudou a ótica da autorreferencialidade para o valor inalienável da alteridade, na própria Igreja e em relação à sociedade. O presente artigo resgata, por um lado, a contribuição de Dom Frei Boaventura Kloppenburg (OFM), como redator-chefe da Revista Eclesiástica Brasileira (REB), entre 1952 e 1971, e, por outro, coloca seu conceito de democracia e Estado laico, ao lado do pensamento político do Papa Francisco, enfatizado na Evangelii Gaudium (2013) e na Fratelli Tutti (2020). E conclui que há no pensamento de Francisco um avanço significativo na doutrina social da Igreja, enquanto integra o humanismo enunciado pelo Concílio às necessidades democráticas das nações, pelo princípio de consciência de "povo". The many readings of the Second Vatican Council correspond to the variety of interlocutors of this ecclesial event that changed the perspective from self-referentiality to the inalienable value of alterity, in the Church itself and in relation to society. This article recovers, on the one hand, the contribution of Dom Frei Boaventura Kloppenburg (OFM), as editor of the Revista Eclesiástica Brasileira (REB), between 1952 and 1971; on the other hand, it places its concept of democracy and the secular State alongside the political thought of Pope Francis emphasized in Evangelii Gaudium (2013) and in Fratelli Tutti (2020). And it concludes that there is, in Francis' thought, a significant advance in the social doctrine of the Church, while integrating the humanism enunciated by the Council, to the democratic needs of the nations, through the the principle of conscience of "people". |
