| Summary: | O artigo busca traçar um perfil do papado de Francisco. Após uma breve caracterização histórica dos dez anos de Francisco à frente da Igreja, será realizada uma análise documental de três áreas-chave de seu pontificado: eclesiológica, moral e sociopolítica. Em cada uma delas visa-se determinar quais são as reformas almejadas pelo Papa e como elas revelam as tensões e disputas que existem entre diferentes tendências na Igreja a respeito de seus rumos no mundo moderno. Com base na teoria dos sistemas de Niklas Luhmann demonstra-se que, ao contrário dos dois últimos papados, cuja hermenêutica do Vaticano II visava a re-estabilização da Igreja, sua crise atual tornou imperativo selecionar alternativas capazes de produzir variações no sistema eclesial. O pano de fundo sociocultural, eclesial e intelectual que Francisco trouxe da teologia latino-americana do povo é fundamental para explicar sua hermenêutica conciliar e, por conseguinte, as linhas de força e o perfil reformista de seu pontificado. The article seeks to outline a profile of Francis' papacy. After a brief historical characterization of Francisco's ten years at the head of the Church, a documentary analysis of three key areas of his pontificate will be carried out: ecclesiological, moral and sociopolitical. In each of them, the aim is to determine which are the reforms sought by the Pope and how they reveal the tensions and disputes that exist between different trends in the Church regarding its course in the modern world. Based on Niklas Luhmann's theory of systems, it is demonstrated that unlike the last two papacies, whose hermeneutics of Vatican II aimed at re-stabilizing the Church, its current crisis made it imperative to select alternatives capable of producing variations in the ecclesial system. The sociocultural, ecclesial and intellectual background that Francis brought from the Latin American theology of the people is fundamental to explain his conciliar hermeneutics and, consequently, the lines of force and the reformist profile of his pontificate. |
