| Summary: | El cardenal Miguel García Cuesta publicó con notable éxito un catecismo en que atacaba el protestantismo, en auge en su momento por la libertad de las leyes vigentes. Su intención era desacreditarlo e impedir su difusión, con vistas a mantener la unidad católica en España sin resquicios. Se sirvió de lo que había escrito en Italia el jesuita Perrone, aunque añadió mucho por su cuenta. Un segundo catecismo sobre los fundamentos de la fe, póstumo, tuvo mucho menos éxito. Miguel García Cuesta, cardinal, have a notable success for his booklet Catechism against Protestantism, with very much editions. His purpose was to make difficult the diffusion of Protestantism in Spain, in his days, in order to save the religious unity of whole country. He uses what wrote Perrone in Italy, enlarging very much questions. A second catechism of principles of faith has less success. |
