| Summary: | Ha sido el libro Paciencia con Dios. Cerca de los lejanos del escritor checo Tomas Halík el que suscitó nuestro interés por estudiar el tema en san Agustín. Como el sintagma «paciencia con Dios» no aparece explícitamente en la obra agustiniana, la primera parte del estudio, de naturaleza filológica, nos ha permitido advertir la idea encubierta bajo la recomendación sustine Dominum del Sal 26/27,14. A partir de ahí, el estudio se centra en los once textos en que el predicador de Hipona comenta o simplemente recurre a ese versículo del salmo. La paciencia con Dios la recomienda concretamente a dos categorías de personas: los amantes y los sufridos, que, por distintos motivos, soportan el peso de la impaciencia. Luego, en sendos apartados, se analizan las respectivas causas de impaciencia y las razones que justifica la invitación a ser pacientes con el Señor, aducidas por el santo. En una breve conclusión, se señalan convergencias y divergencias entre el planteamiento del obispo de Hipona y el del autor checo. It has been the book Patience with God. Close to the distant ones of the Czech writer Tomas Halík who aroused our interest in studying this subject in Saint Augustine. As the phrase "patience with God" does not appear explicitly in the Augustinian work, the first part of the study, of a philological nature, has allowed us to notice the hidden idea under the sustine Dominum recommendation of Ps 26/27,14. From there, the study focuses on the eleven texts in which the preacher of Hippo comments on or simply resorts to that verse of the psalm. Patience with God is specifically recommended for two categories of people: the lovers and the long-suffering, who, for different reasons, bear the weight of impatience. Then, in two separate sections, are analyzed, the respective causes of impatience and the reasons that justify the invitation to be patient with the Lord, adduced by the saint. In a brief conclusion, convergences and divergences are pointed out between the approach of the Bishop of Hippo and that of the Czech author. |
