Description
Summary:Through a historical and sociological analysis of the role of women in peace processes, this essay brings to light how in the collective imaginary the other half of heaven is represented as at once holy, a victim, and a warrior. This path offers us a window into what happened in the past with the not always positive portrayal of women in western culture and their historically marginal role at peace tables, up to the important gender claims in the second post-war era that were pushed forward by feminist movements and the affirmation of matriarchy in social systems throughout the world. The story unfolds around the substantive difference between the concepts of peace and nonviolence, to the point of nonviolent and dialogic practice of conscientious objection and education from below to construct a new model of peace.
