Summary: | In the next thirty years 200 million human beings will be in constant, invisible movement around the planet. Pandemics, thirst, famines due to climate change, or oppression drive physical movement as well as the immaterial movement of ideas. There is a clash of opposing views in Europe: one focuses on the well-being of human beings as worthy of the right to individual and collective development; the other seeks to seize territory, which is a singular resource. A brief examination of the facts from 2022 leads to focusing on the democratic method that, with recognized institutions, makes up the indistinct movement following a course of cultural ecology from Heraclitus to the papal lectio. Pope Francis’ Encyclical Fratelli tutti (FT) creates the prospect of "open fraternity" (FT n. 1) to "recognize, appreciate, and love every person" (FT n. 1). With a surprise. (English) |
