Description
Summary:When Kevin McKelson was training to be a missionary priest for the Society of the Catholic Apostolate, many of the ideas from the Second Vatican Council would have sounded quite foreign. The bishops said that the church wished to "respect and foster the qualities and talents of the various races and nations ... in some places and circumstances, however, an even more radical adaptation of the liturgy is needed". Kevin himself later said that during his missiological studies in Rome before the council he was told: that our missionary task was to "plant" the local church, which meant that the native born should take over and run the local church but it was basically to be a western thing that they were running. The car was the same, only the drivers were to change.
