| Summary: | This treatise intends to continue the research on the birth and development of the Monti di Pietà [Mounts of Piety] in the centre and the south of the Marches. This work is conceived in several parts, the first of these, focused on the history of the Monte di Pietà of Osimo, which appeared in the MF 122 (2022) 536-551. Instead, this article intends to focus on the Monti di Pietà of Iesi and Castel Durante (Urbania). In its microcosm, the work aims to analyse the variations of the individual Monti di Pietà in the Marches, while in a macrocosmic vision of the contributions intends to highlight the points of continuity between the various institutions, from the causes that led to the foundation of the institutions to their economic and financial performance over the centuries. The theme linked to the Jews and their financial activity is also not less important. |
