Summary: | The description of the following four sacraments in the Writings of St. Maximilian form this essay which completes the systematic analysis on the sacramental theology of the Saint, already explained in the MF 2022 article. The theological notions present are intrinsically linked in the texts, both with the Immaculate Conception in her capacity as mediatrix, and with the pastoral concern for the fruits of the sacramental signs in the People of God. It is noted that greater attention is paid to the sacrament of reconciliation and priesthood, in respect of anointing of the sick and marriage, but this does not discredit the last two in the reflection of St. Maximilian, despite fewer number of references. Even if the Saint does not offer any discussion on the sacraments, his vision is coherent and inclusive of many elements that can serve today, eighty years after his martyrdom. |
