Summary: | The article presents an analysis of the phenomenon of Bob Larson and the Teenage Exorcists, an American reverend and TV preacher and his three young disciples, in the context of popular religion in the United States today. The paper tackles also the issue of the significant transition in approach to spirituality and religiosity among the youth groups, not just in America, but also in a global scale. This issue is being presented as a consequence of a wider problem - i.e. a widespread process of combining religious symbols with popular culture. The presented problem is being put into the sphere of phenomena and processes specific for modernity and the issue of commercialization and privatization of religion in general. |
