Description
Summary:Postmodernity regarded as an era of post-metaphysics, in a large extent promotes what is human and possible to realize. The processes occurring in the Western culture make a specific compensation reaction towards the "eschatological loss of the world" and appear as a process of experiencing the values of the "new one". In a "disenchanted world" the place of traditional, absolute values is being taken by authenticity, self-realization, self-creation, and an individual esthetic experience. In contemporary consumer culture drawing sensations and pleasures from life seems to be the fundamental aim for many people, what often leads to ambivalent character of moral judgments. Contemporary so called consumer/collector of sensations creates his own life space due to esthetical criteria. Also the esthetic experience - in a broader sense - proposes a "new" vision of man and, in consequence, a new vision of his spirituality.
